How about a true SS396 Convertible to add to the stable! This rare Super Sport is one of only 5,393 Convertibles made out of over 72,000 SS396 Chevelles for 1966. This one is finished in Regal Red with a White Convertible top per the cowl tag and was purchased new and stayed in Southern California since new. Although mostly original, a few drivability upgrades were made for comfort and better highway use. Under the hood sits the original and rebuilt matching number 396/325 Horsepower V8 with a polished Edelbrock intake, dual feed Holley 4 barrel carburetor, Ball Milled polished aluminum valve covers, factory power steering, CPP 4 wheel power disc brakes with slotted and drilled rotors, Vintage A/C with R134 Freon and a set of Ceramic coated thick flange Headers with dual exhaust running Flowmaster mufflers out to the rear for a sweet sound. Power gets put to the pavement through a fresh 700R4 automatic overdrive transmission followed by the original 12 Bolt rear differential with 3.73 Posi-Traction gear ratio. Front tubular control arms with adjustable coil overs and a set of 17 inch staggered Rev wheels on all four corners give it a little better handling and a bit of a Restomod stance. The Red vinyl interior is mostly stock in appearance with a bench seat, removable arm rest with cup holders, original steering wheel, knee knocker tachometer, Custom Auto Sound Stereo with kick panel speakers and a nice 3 pack set of under dash gauges for accurate engine vitals. This body style has always been a favorite and seems to be gaining a lot of popularity these days.
