A rare collector car that you don’t see everyday! Only 1833 R2 Supercharged versions were produced for the 1963 and 64 year models and a little over 115 cars are known to be finished in Velvet Black with Black interior. This 2 owner Black Plated California car was purchased by the original owner who worked for the Harold Examiner in Los Angeles and sold it to one of his employees in 1975. Now it is here and ready for the next collector or Avanti enthusiast to enjoy! The paint finish is very nice as well as all of the Chrome and brightwork throughout the car. A set of 15 inch Halibrand Replica wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich Silvertown Redline radials were added many years ago to give it the look it deserves. Under the hood sits the original 289 Cubic inch V8 rated at 289 Horsepower with a factory Paxton Supercharger package, Chrome engine accents, Carter AFB 4 barrel carburetor, dual exhaust, factory power steering and power disc brakes. Power gets put to the road through a 3 speed automatic transmission followed by the optional Twin-Traction 3.73 rear differential along with front and rear sway bars for optimized handling. The interior is finished in Black Vinyl with Bucket seats, center console with floor shifter, full performance gauge package with factory tachometer, roof console mounted switches, original steering wheel and AM Radio. Open the glove box and you will see a couple of famous signatures of Andy Granatelli and the fastest woman on wheels, Paula Murphy! This highly documented classic has all of its receipts since new, owners manuals, build sheets and some vintage memorabilia. It is fresh serviced and ready to go!
